Classroom workshops

We bring an interactive, hands-on learning experience to your students. Each workshop is tailored to your students’ grade level and has BC curriculum connections. Topics include bee anatomy and life cycle, roles of the honey bees, responsibilities of the beekeeper, and the importance of bees. ​

Primary (K-4)

This workshop includes:

Bee smoker demonstration (optional, must be done outdoors)

Hands-on inspection of a real beehive (minus the bees)

Exploration of hive components and beekeeping equipment

3D model and demonstration of a bee stinger

Bee-themed activity handouts

Intermediate (4-7)

This workshop includes:

Presentation with photos and information on what can be found inside a beehive

Bee smoker demonstration (optional, must be done outdoors)

Hands-on inspection of a real beehive (minus the bees)
